Promise for the year 2026

Dear Children of God!

"The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you." - Deu 31:8.

We see these words given to Joshua at a time when he was anxious about what he would do when he had to take on the great responsibility that was coming. These are the prophetic words of God's servant Moses to Joshua, who spoke the promise in the Bible. Joshua walked shoulder to shoulder with the leader on his 40 - year journey of ministry.

God gives us such promises on our path of life and in the new year that we must pass through.

The Lord Himself goes before you.

God says to His people:

You shall be my people, and I will be your God. (Jeremiah 30:22) Therefore the Lord is the one who goes before us. He is the good and chief shepherd who leads his flock, God's people.

Often, when political leaders visit, all vehicles are stopped and the leaders' vehicles are escorted by security guards in front and behind. That is how our God will go before his people. That is how God led the entire people of Israel.

He fulfilled the prophetic words that God had given to Joshua. The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.

God's people crossed over on dry ground. He who goes before you.

He will be with you. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

The Bible says what a great blessing it is to have the Lord with us: God was with Isaac and blessed him. Isaac sowed seed in that land, and the Lord blessed him, and he reaped in that year a hundredfold. (Genesis 26:12)

We read in Genesis 39 that 4 times the Lord was with Joseph.

Potiphar was blessed because God was with him even in the place where he was sold as a slave. Joseph also found favor in the eyes of the prison captain.

Let's read II Samuel 5:10, which says that the Lord God of hosts was with David, and David grew greater and greater day by day.

“The Lord was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout the land,” we read in Joshua 6:27. The Lord, who had promised, was with Joshua. His fame spread throughout the land.

Joshua may have thought: We were with Moses for 40 years, and at certain points in time, how many people rebelled against Moses, stoned him, and split up to not accept his leadership?

But, instead of being a man, Moses fulfilled his promise by saying, "I will be with you." Even more than how God was with Moses, the Lord was with Joshua and led him to inherit the land.

The same Lord says to us: I will go before you all this year, I will be with you and bless you.

May the Lord himself be with you and bless you! Amen.
